Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 12 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Basmati Rice
  • 8 Cups Whole Milk
  • ¼ Cup Almonds
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Raisins
  • ¼ Green Cardamom Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Rose Water
    GARNISH
  • ¼ Cup Chopped Pistachio
  • 6-8 Threads Saffron

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling the milk in a medium saucepan. When the milk starts to boil, remove from heat
  2. and set aside.
  3. Rinse the Basmati Rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  4. Add the rice to the 12 cups of water and cook covered for 15-18 minutes. Then drain the water.
  5. Next, add the boiled rice to the milk and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
  6. Then, stir in sugar, cardamom, raisins, rose water, and almonds and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Finally, ladle into serving bowl and garnish with saffron and pistachios.
