Rice Pudding
Ingredients
- 12 Cups Water
- 1 Cup Basmati Rice
- 8 Cups Whole Milk
- ¼ Cup Almonds
- ½ Cup Sugar
- ¼ Cup Raisins
- ¼ Green Cardamom Powder
- 1 Tsp. Rose Water
GARNISH
- ¼ Cup Chopped Pistachio
- 6-8 Threads Saffron
Instructions
- Start by boiling the milk in a medium saucepan. When the milk starts to boil, remove from heat
- and set aside.
- Rinse the Basmati Rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Add the rice to the 12 cups of water and cook covered for 15-18 minutes. Then drain the water.
- Next, add the boiled rice to the milk and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
- Then, stir in sugar, cardamom, raisins, rose water, and almonds and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- Finally, ladle into serving bowl and garnish with saffron and pistachios.
